I loved this quote from Call The Midwife because it was true for my beginning of motherhood, and because even though I love when the warm fuzzy feelings are there (and they often are thankfully), there are times when love is a decision, and not a feeling. Simply trusting God and doing the next right thing. Day after day of hopefully showing that child the love of Christ through our actions. The feelings of love often come, but the pushing through, deciding to love no matter how we feel, and God's grace is what keeps us going every day in the journey of being a mom. I'm so thankful for God's goodness in blessing me with the job of being mom to our littles, and I love them very much! "When I first became a mom, I was so excited to be CELEBRATED on Mother's Day. Buy me gifts! Tell me how wonderful I am!! But as the years have passed, Mother's Day has shifted into something much more precious, a day where *I* celebrate, not only the wonderful little people God has entrusted to my care, but the calling itself that has sharpened and challenged and changed me in immeasurable ways. God knew what I needed, even when I didn't." <3 Love, love, love this perspective on Mother's day from Mrs. Gore's Diary |
