Mama bracelet

Recently I saw an Etsy store that made prayer bracelets for moms. Hers were beaded with neutral beads, and you had a blue bead for each boy, pink for girl, and green for foster child. I thought the idea was sweet, though my kids have no problems reminding me of their regular need for prayer, haha, *sigh* so I dug out my jewelry making supplies and created my own version :-). I like the way it turned out, though basically if jewelry is minimalist, or contains pearls, or is sentimental in some way then I will probably love it!

#dearestplaceonearth

"Give yourself to the Church. You that are members of the Church have not found it perfect and I hope that you feel almost glad that you have not. If I had never joined a Church till I had found one that was perfect, I would never have joined one at all!

And the moment I did join it, if I had found one, I should have spoiled it, for it would not have been a perfect Church after I had become a member of it. Still, imperfect as it is, it is the dearest place on earth to us…

All who have first given themselves to the Lord, should, as speedily as possible, also give themselves to the Lord’s people. How else is there to be a Church on the earth? If it is right for anyone to refrain from membership in the Church, it is right for everyone, and then the testimony for God would be lost to the world!

As I have already said, the Church is faulty, but that is no excuse for your not joining it, if you are the Lord’s. Nor need your own faults keep you back, for the Church is not an institution for perfect people, but a sanctuary for sinners saved by Grace, who, though they are saved, are still sinners and need all the help they can derive from the sympathy and guidance of their fellow Believers.

The Church is the nursery for God’s weak children where they are nourished and grow strong. It is the fold for Christ’s sheep—the home for Christ’s family.”

Forgetting and remembering

Just this morning I was feeling discouraged by memories I would rather forget so today's devotional was very timely. #morningandevening #remember#thelordwillgivewhatisgood

#homeschooling

It's no secret that homeschooling kind of scares me, so many decisions, can I do it right, I could go on....etc. So it was important to me to use a curriculum that is clear and simple, and spells out exactly what to do. At least for this first year!  We decided to go with A Beka because it met those qualifications, I'm familiar with it, and that is how I learned to read! I was reading chapter books at 6 years old so it must do something right, lol. Along with this I plan to add in some ABC Mouse, and am thinking of reading Little House in the Big Woods for k5 "history." At this point we are leaning towards starting very soon and doing a year round, 4 day a week schedule which should give us a lot of flexibility for bad headache days, adventures, etc, but we'll see how it all goes. Nothing is written in stone and we can make changes as needed! I'm also wanting to try to schedule in some regular time (maybe a couple times a week?) to do some preschool activities with Luke, both for learning, discipline/good habits, and mommy time for him! Hopefully I can figure out a schedule that works to fit all this in, plus my regular work, some quiet time for me, etc.

My rule following, check off boxes self is in love 😍.
This made me lol. 😃🤣😅

Boat adventures

Last week we took a boat ride on the Chain o Lakes and ate dinner at Clearwater Harbor. The kids had so much fun!
