Caroline
One of my projects for today was updating the kids' framed pictures we keep in the living room. Here are the ones I got of Caroline. She looks so cute in my pearl headband!

Caroline said
Reading a book, "Look Mama, she has beautiful hair just like me!"
When I told her we were having potatoes for dinner, "Can we have the smushed kind, please?"
"Now Duke is 1, and I'm 2, Daddy is 10, and you're 5!"
Caroline just pushed Luke down. After we got through everyone screaming and talking about it.....
"I'm sorry mama. Saying sorry is the first part. Now can I help?"
Me, "You can help by playing nicely with your brother."
Caroline, "That's a good idea!"

One year old
Well this is probably Luke's last monthly update post :-(.
I can't believe my baby is a year old, and I almost cried yesterday when I said, "My toddlers," for the first time. Happily though Luke is still very much the snuggly, cuddly baby, so at least for now, nothing much has changed :-). He is still nursing about 3 times a day, though in the last couple days he has seemed to have less interest in it. I hope we can continue for at least a couple more months though. He eats everything we eat, and drinks water from a cup, I haven't offered him milk yet since he is still nursing. As for talking he only says a couple things, and he's cruising, and sometimes standing with no hands, but no steps yet! Sleep is going great, most nights he goes to bed at 7, and sleeps till 6 or 7 in the morning. Naps are from 8:30 - 10:30, and 1:00 - 3;00, approximately. At his well baby visit he weighed 24 pounds, and was 31 inches tall. Luke loves reading books, snuggling, and playing in the playroom!

Luke's birthday
Pictures from Luke's first birthday! For some reason my computer has taken to doing a very annoying thing where I can not see the thumbnail of pictures I upload so I have no idea which I'm loading.....so that is why these are in no particular order and I just don't have time or inclination to deal with fixing it! His birthday was interesting, Mama had a migraine, and it looked like his birthday dinner fell through, but in the end it all worked out and he had a good time! He got some fun new toys for the playroom, a ride and walk toy and little people farm animals from John and me, and a rocking horse, tractor, and clothes from Grandma. For dinner we were joined by his Grandma, and Great Grandpa, we had his favorite pizza, and Caroline helped make him a caramel apple cake.
My birthday presents
This year I asked for chocolate. My favorite way to unwind at naptime is with some tea, an episode on Netflix, and some kind of treat, preferably chocolate. This should keep me supplied for awhile! Not pictured, is that I asked John to pick me up some Nyquil so I could try to get rid of a persistent migraine. Haha, he wrapped it up and put it in the gift. I also was given a couple dishes from grandma, and a pair pf earrings from friends! Fun :-) |
