On October 6th we made the three hour drive to Pepin Wisconsin to see Laura Ingalls Wilder's birthplace. |
We saw a lot of interesting and pretty scenery, though sadly the leaves hadn't changed much due to our crazy, warm fall! |
We made it! Caroline and I were super excited. |
Jack! |
This quilt belonged to Laura! |
I loved the stove! |
Luke had to know how everything worked. |
I was surprised by how small the inside of the wagon was! |
Luke hasn't read the books, but he had a great time too. |
Jack the Bulldog came home with us :-) |
It was a very bright, warm day! |
My souvenir. I love it. |
We had a picnic lunch at this little park. |
We saw some pretty leaves. |
Next we visited the little House in the Big Woods. It was so cool to be at the actual place they lived! |
the doorway on the left was the bedroom, and the pantry was on the right. |
I was imagining poor Ma trying to keep her kids busy in this tiny space during the long Wisconsin winter days. No screens to help her out either. |
Caroline brought her Ingalls family of Barbies to see their house :-) |
Children of the corn. |
The same yard Laura played in. |
Driving through the big woods. |
We then went into Minnesota since I had never been, and we were so close! |
Those hills in the distance are Wisconsin. Then we made the three hour drive home. It was a fun day! |
