Pool fun
John had Martin Luther King day off work so we decided to visit an indoor pool in Iola. It was super cheap, and so fun!

New Year's dinner
We had the traditional DiLella New Year meal of subs, chips, and dip tonight. The kids kept telling me how good dinner was so I'm counting it as a win 😀. |
A special treat of cracker toffee for the New year! #youdonthavetocelebratechristmastohavetreats #ortraditions #orfamilytime #happy2018#thankful |
Faithful
I've never been someone to make a lot of resolutions, or choose a word of the year, but seeing a million and one posts on the topic got me thinking. Because I think through everything...at length. It can be exhausting, but also no spur of the moment decisions regrets.Last year I made one resolution which was to read more and I definitely kept it, and enjoyed keeping it .
So after reflection, in 2018 my goal is to be faithful in the sphere and place God has put me.
To be a faithful Christian, to be diligent in reading and praying. To look for Christ on every page.

To be a good wife to John and prioritize our marriage, and to make our home a comfortable, peaceful place.
To be a good mother, love my kids, be patient with them, give them my time without begrudging it, be firm when called for, but always acting in love.

To be diligent in my homeschooling responsibilities, which happens to be my scariest job .
To not compare myself to other moms, not stress, and to be wise in resting, and planning quiet times.
Most of all to look to the Lord and remember He is always faithful, even when I am sick, and things are hard, when I mess up, that I will remember where to look, and where to find help in my constant needs.

“Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)”

"Mom, I'll hug you before I go play so you won't forget what I look like."
Earlier today, "Grandma, why don't you paint your nails? Is it because you're old and stuff?"
Also, after hearing John praise Duke for patience, "I wonder where he got that? Probably from me!"

December days
Making my birthday cake. |
I got birthstones for the kids. |
We love ABC Mouse! |
We made a countdown till they get to see their cousins. Every day they each get 1 candy corn till they are all gone - and then it is time to go! Mom is hoping a visual thing will maybe cut back on questions about when it is time to go. #probablyinvain |
A Sunday afternoon pile of tired! |
A treat for learning the lower case alphabet. |
Dukie loves making "animal parades." |
You might be cold when you are snuggled up with a blanket, sweater, heating pad, and hot tea. #Imadeittonaptime#mamaistired |

After feeling so sick with a headache yesterday, I was thankful to be well enough to work on this wedding album at nap time. Five years have passed with no scrapbook, or dvd done, so I figured I'd better do the best I could with what I had! ☺😍 |
Apparently this is how we dress when the temps are below zero. 🤣 #orwhenwearedressedbythe4yearold #waytoocold #watchingoutforpolarbears |
