Caroline's busy day

Laundry helper.

Watching Daddy "boom boom" on the addition.

Cheering Daddy on.

20 weeks and an anniversary dinner

Here I am at 20 weeks all dressed to go out for Chinese for our anniversary dinner. Later I added pearls and pink sandals. We had a fun evening and yummy food :-). Not much as changed with symptoms, we're pretty much the same. Lots of movements and as I'm carrying a lot higher than I did with Caroline I find myself starting to get out of breath more often.

Just for fun, a picture of Caroline at our anniversary dinner last year.

And here she is this year. She loved the crab rangoons and fortune cookies.

I've declared war...

.....on concrete dust. I hate the nasty stuff which is doing it's best to take over the house. Here is the trench John cut on Saturday for the plumbing in the addition. The best part of the day? After all his cutting and hauling was done, and my vacuuming, scrubbing, etc was completed we had blizzards at Dairy Queen. A fun end to the week.

The things children say....

Last night at dinner John was talking and Caroline agreed with everything he said by repeatedly saying, "umm hmm."
John turned to her and asked if Daddy can say anything wrong.
Caroline emphatically said, "no!"
For a few years anyway I suppose......

An addition update

Footings getting poured.

Setting up forms for basement concrete walls.

Concrete being poured in the wall forms.

Forms are stripped and basement walls are left the cure a bit before sealing the exterior and backfilling.

The hole in the wall leading from the existing basement into the addition basement.

We are back filled......
Construction can commence.

The start of the floor framing.
Sill plates, some rim board, the center beam, and about half the joists cut and ready to install.

19 weeks

19 weeks and 4 days. I'm completely in maternity clothes now except for a couple skirts with elastic waists that I can wear under the bump! Feeling big, kind of achey, especially my back, and feeling lots of baby kicks. I think last week its head was up, and now its moved back into a head down position judging on where I feel kicks. A couple more migraines, one of which made me miss church, but the good news is that the last couple have only lasted about 24 hours instead of days. I hope they are tapering off like they did with Caroline. Three more weeks till my ultrasound and then I can think about starting to get some things ready!

Caroline and berries

Caroline's new favorite- sitting "oop" on the loveseat like a big girl.

Busy girl. She's wearing her cute new summer nightgown.

Picked from the garden yesterday.

18 weeks and other odds and ends...

18 weeks! Here I am in the new (to me) maternity jeans I found yesterday. I never thought I would be wearing jeans, but WI weather changed my mind about that pretty quickly! We had a good midwife appointment yesterday, all is well except that my blood pressure was only 90/50 which may explain dizziness, and headaches. Speaking of headaches - they've been bad. Two very painful migraines this week. On the bright side, lots of baby kicks :-)

John surprised me with this new purse yesterday! The one I've been using since we got married and is kind of falling apart and I guess he found a great sale while getting himself some shoes he needed.

We picked our first strawberry yesterday! No picture, Caroline ate it right away :-)
Speaking of Caroline, the poor girl is working on two molars and has pain, diaper rash, and a fever that came along with them. And speaking of the garden (back to the strawberry) I had my first big weeding session today which really needed to be done. The plants are looking good!

Yesterday I found Caroline a nice nightgown for this winter. Since she wears a bulky cloth diaper at night I love having her sleep in nightgowns, and anyway they are cute :-)

The addition is coming along, although a lot slower than we had hoped. People are not so good at showing up on time to do their work......but it's coming and the basement walls are now up. Hopefully, hopefully it will be done before the baby comes. I'll post some more pictures soon.

Silly girl

My silly little girl! I was just counting up words and realized Caroline now says about 22 words, most of them completely recognizable. She even sometimes combines 2 words such as, "where's daddy?", and "it's daddy!". We hear the second phrase approximately 50 times every day between the time when John gets home from work and she goes to bed.

17 weeks

At 17 weeks I can still wear some of my regular skirts, but have had to switch to maternity shirts since my regular ones just aren't long enough. It's been a rough week with a long painful migraine, but other than that all is well. Somehow, by the grace of God, surviving these painful days, and getting the important stuff done.

Swingin' on the deck swing

Nap time

An adorable little napper. She always uses the blanket I made her as a pillow, and snuggles with all her babies. That's Daddy's old pound puppy by her head.
