On Saturday I bought something I've wanted for a lonnnng time, a pair of tall black dress boots. I've always liked the look of them and kind of kept an eye out in thrift stores, but never needed them enough to buy a pair new. Then I moved to Wi and found out that my normal ballet flat style dress shoes just don't cut it in the winter, and the hand me down snow boots I was using were way too ugly for dressing up. After a few weeks of no success at Goodwill (they never had my size, or had high heels which I didn't want), John and I went shopping. I was glad to have his expertise at dressing for cold weather. He insisted on a thick sole, and leather, saying that would actually keep me warm, and last forever. Best of all we found something I liked for 60% off! And wow, wearing leggings, socks and boots under my skirt kept me warm in church. That was so nice, normally during church my feet freeze :-(. I'm finally learning to dress properly for this cold. We got me a real winter coat last year (had a great coupon for it :-) ), and John got me some warm gloves. No more dressing like a southern girl these days....
